YWAM Native Ministries, Kamiah, Idaho was established in the summer of 1993.
The instruction we felt God give us was that we were to honor God's work that
was already going on here among Native people. Staff members began attending the
two Native Christian Churches in the Kamiah community. (Presbyterian USA) By
building and growing relationships with the Nez Perce people the Lord granted
us favor and open doors for ministry. We received invitations to assist with
youth programs, help with
building projects and host outreach teams that
served the Native churches and the community. An elder of one of the Native Churches
told us that we were the "Sent Ones" that they had prayed for

We remain involved in local ministry through the Native churches, teaching Sunday School, preaching
God's Word, helping with building projects and presenting activities for young
people. At our ministry center we offered weekly Bible Studies for ladies called
"Circle of Life", offered Community Nights for worship, prayer and
teaching and hosted church
and YWAM teams reaching out to our community with practical service, Youth
Rallies and Open Air meetings. In 2001 we were privileged to take a group of Native
believers, mostly young, to Tijuana Mexico on a Mission Adventures outreach.
It is our prayer to see Native
people released into missions! We believe that the Lord has uniquely gifted
First Nations people and is opening many doors for them to share His Good
Message through the means of culture around the world.
